What the S5-GR3P(5-20)K Series Is

The Solis S5-GR3P(5-20)K is a three phase, transformer less, grid-tied inverter series spanning 5kW to 20kW rated output across nine individual models. It's built for rooftops and installations where the load and the sanctioned connection are three phase bigger homes, commercial establishments, small industrial sheds, and any site where a single-phase unit simply isn't rated for the connection.

Input & Output Specifications

DC Input

• Recommended max. PV input: 7.5kW on the 5K model, scaling up to 30kW on the 20K model

• Max. input voltage: 1100V, with a rated voltage of 600V

• Start-up voltage: 180V, MPPT operating range of 160V–1000V

• 2 MPPT trackers across the full series 2 input strings on the 5K–10K models, 4 input strings on the 12K–20K models

• Max. input current: 16A per MPPT on 5K–10K, 32A per MPPT on 12K–20K

• Over 150% DC/AC oversizing ratio supported, so the series works comfortably with high-wattage modules without forcing a bigger inverter than the site needs

AC Output

• Rated grid connection: 3/N/PE, 220V/380V or 230V/400V at 50Hz/60Hz

• Max. apparent output ranges from 5.5kVA on the 5K model to 22kVA on the 20K model

• Power factor greater than 0.99, adjustable between 0.8 leading and 0.8 lagging

• THDi under 2%, DC injection current under 0.5% of rated current

• Export power control supported for sites with a capped feed-in limit

Efficiency and Protection

Efficiency climbs with capacity across the series: the 5K–6K models run at 98.3% max. efficiency, 8K at 98.5%, 10K at 98.6%, and the 12K–20K models top out at 98.7% max. efficiency, with EU efficiency figures between 97.7% and 98.1% depending on model.

On protection, every model in the S5-GR3P(5-20)K series carries the same standard set:

• Integrated AFCI (arc-fault circuit protection), which proactively cuts DC arc risk before it becomes a fire hazard a feature not every inverter in this class includes as standard

• DC reverse-polarity, short-circuit, and output overcurrent protection

• Surge protection, grid monitoring, and anti-islanding protection

• Temperature protection and an integrated DC switch

• Automatic voltage stabilization for weak-grid conditions, useful where feeder voltage isn't consistently stable

The step from the 10K to the 12K model is the meaningful jump in this series it's where the inverter moves from 2 input strings to 4, which matters for how your array is wired and how much flexibility you have in module placement across multiple roof faces.
